IMG 0041The Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture is utilizing the July 2017 Term 2 school break to conduct a series of workshops in the following areas:

  • Classroom Based Assessment
  • Vee-map strategy for teaching and learning
  • Induction for Newly Appointed Deputy Principals, First Assistants and Infant Supervisors
  • Induction for new teachers with 3 years or less teaching experience
  • Intervention Support Program- additional support provided to teachers to ensure they meet the professional standards for teachers

The Induction program will include the Public Service Commission and the Ministry of Police who will be sharing information on laws and policies relevant to teachers, administrators and the safety of students in our schools.

IMG 0062The first series of trainings will be held for Upolu teachers from Tuesday 04th to Thursday 06th July 2017 and Savaii from Tuesday 11th to Thursday 13th July 2017.

The Honourable Minister of Education, Sports and Culture Afioga Loau Solamalemalo Keneti Sio will officially open the Induction training session for the Deputy Principals, First Assistants and Infant Supervisors. This will be held at the Hotel Elisa conference room at Sogi. Other training sessions will be opened by the CEO and ACEOs of the Ministry in the different venues. An estimated total of 686 teachers will participate in the July National training.

Trainers and facilitators for the training will be the ACEO’s and staff of the Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture and the Classroom Based Assessment session will be facilitated by the staff of the Oloamanu Centre.
