examsFollowing the National Primary Assessments in October, the secondary colleges began their National Examinations for School Certiicate (SSC) and Samoa Secondary Leaving Certificate (SSLC) on Monday 12th November. The first subject was English for both Year 12 and Year 13 students whilst the last day of exams will be Thursday 22nd November.

There are almost 2,000 students enrolled for the SSLC Examinations and more than 2,500 students for SSC Examinations. Currently, there are 17 examinable subjects for Year 12 and 18 subjects for Year 13.

The exam schedules had been distributed to school Principals and aslo made available for the public on the MESC website.

The provisional results will be available in January, in time for students who are aiming to pursue tertiary studies. The provisional results period is for 2 weeks and allows students the opportunity to apply for a recount/s.

For many students sitting SSC and SSLC, these exams will be a turning point; after 12 or 13 years of formal learning, the personal perseverance and sacrifices given, and taken, we as a nation congratulate you for reaching even this level of attainment.
