Post Tsunami - Children Fun Day

The Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture co-ordinated a Fun-Day for children attending primary and secondary schools in the districts of Aleipata, Lepa/Lotofaga and Falealili on Friday 11th, 18th and 25th of June respectively.
This initiative was part of a program designed to provide fun(psychologically social) activities to assist in alleviating post traumatic stress caused by the September 2009 tsunami.

After readings from the Holy Bible and prayers by the respective pastors were done, the children raced off to prepare their gear and then it was games on.

Fun games such as balloon relay, parachute, ball relay, target hoops, tag games  were done for the little kids whereas serious games such as rugby and volleyball were done for the more matured secondary students.

At the end of the games, sausage sandwiches and water prepared by the Ministry were given out to ease the hunger and thirst before goodbyes were said and the Ministry staff headed back to town.
